No homework norway

The characteristic signs — fidgeting, inattention in the classroom, weepiness over homework, trouble falling asleep at night — are gone. Incredibly, he cannot wait to get to school each day. He is rapidly learning Norwegian. He is happy to do homework and, in fact, sometimes works ahead or asks his sister to make up math problems for him to solve.

Of course, not having homework is not the ONLY reason why they have such a high graduation rate, but clearly it’s not hurting! Finnish students have some other great perks, along with not having to do homework. In US public schools there are many standardized tests, where in Finland they have almost none.

Having more time to play outside, ride skateboards or bikes, hang out with friends, read, or take part in some craft, skill, or hobby are all benefits LEADPrep students enjoy with flipped learning and not having hours of homework to complete every night. The country of Finland apparently agrees.

In grade 4, a majority of the pupils in Norway spend either less than one hour (52 percent) or between one and two hours (30 percent) on homework, whereas 11 percent spend more than 2 hours. 4 percent of the pupils report that they do not spend any time on homework although they get homework.
