Faith diplomacy essay

According to the article, "What is Faith" written by Jim Haeffele, faith is defined as having trust, assurance and confidence in a higher being. It is publicly displayed through service and obedience. However, its importance is based on a powerful human reality which is usually misunderstood.

The ideas and theories of past philosophers have greatly affected the divorce between faith and reason however John Paul II’s Fides et Ratio has significantly helped the church and her people understand and feel comfortable with the concept of a ‘circle’ holding both entities together in a strong union where one feeds off the other.

In her essay “Faith and Diplomacy,” Madeleine Albright, a professor at Georgetown University and former U.S Secretary of State, argues that religion is a force that can be used in international communications. Both essays emphasize the importance of making ethical decisions.
